Booking Terms & Conditions
Customer Booking Terms and Agreement
By making any payment (Deposit or Full Payment), you enter into a binding agreement with Chef Kel Catering. These terms are in place to protect both the customer and the business. Chef Kel Catering reserves the right to amend these terms at any time; major changes will be communicated to booked customers via email.
1. Deposits & Payments

Confirmation: Quotes are subject to availability. A booking is only secured upon receipt of a deposit. We operate on a "First Come, First Served" basis.

Final Payment: Full payment is required 7 days prior to the event. Payment details are provided on your Booking Confirmation.

Late Payments: Failure to pay by the due date may result in additional administrative costs or cancellation of your booking. Please notify us immediately if you encounter payment delays.
2. Cancellation & Rescheduling
Cancellation & Rescheduling Policy: all cancellations must be submitted in writing via email. In the event of a cancellation, the following refund schedule applies to the Deposit Payment:

30+ Days Notice: 40% of the deposit is refundable.

21 Days Notice: 25% of the deposit is refundable.

14 Days Notice: 10% of the deposit is refundable.

7 Days or Less Notice: The deposit is non-refundable. Additionally, 25% of the total booked package cost will be due immediately to cover lost stock and administrative costs.
Rescheduling/Change of Date: Moving a booking to a new date is subject to availability and will incur an additional rescheduling fee. This fee depends on booking details and any costs already incurred by Chef Kel Catering. All date changes must be confirmed via email.
3. COVID-19 & Government Restrictions
In the event of government-mandated restrictions:

Customers may reschedule to an available date (additional costs may apply).

If the customer chooses not to reschedule, the deposit remains non-refundable.

4. Menu & Dietary Requirements

Catering Portions & Meal Substitutions: Party/Finger Food packages are designed as light refreshments or snacks for stand-up events. They are not intended to be a full meal replacement. If you require the catering to serve as a main meal, please notify Chef Kel Catering in advance. We can provide options to increase quantities or portions to ensure your guests are satisfied, additional costs would apply

Menu Substitutions: We reserve the right to substitute menu items based on seasonal availability. We will discuss major changes with you in advance.

Allergies & Dietary Requirements: It is the customer’s responsibility to inform Chef Kel Catering of all dietary requirements and allergies at the time of booking. While we take every precaution to accommodate these needs, our kitchen handles nuts, gluten, dairy, and other allergens. Therefore, we cannot guarantee a 100% allergen-free environment, and guests consume our catering at their own risk.

Gluten-Free (GF) & Coeliac Requirements: While we take extreme care to prepare GF menu items separately and use dedicated equipment for heating and cooking, our catering is prepared in a shared kitchen environment. Therefore, a minimal risk of cross-contamination remains. Customers must specifically disclose if any guests have Coeliac disease so that additional safety protocols can be discussed. Chef Kel Catering cannot guarantee a 100% gluten-free environment and guests with severe sensitivities consume our catering at their own risk.

5. Presentation & Service

Standard Delivery: Food is presented in disposable foil trays with lids (refer to your confirmation email for photos).

Wait Service: If wait service is booked, food is presented on platters with napkins and sauces.

BBQ Catering: Presented in disposable foil trays.

Note: The customer must provide suitable tables for food setup.
6. Finalizing Bookings
Booking Adjustments: Once your Booking Confirmation has been issued, menu quantities and guest numbers can be increased (subject to availability) but cannot be decreased. All bookings are accepted based on the original quoted minimums, and the final invoice will reflect no less than the amount stated on your confirmation.
7. Complaints Procedure
To ensure fairness, any issues must be raised with Chef Kel at the time of service. This allows us the opportunity to rectify the situation immediately. Complaints made after the event concludes will be considered unreasonable as the service period has ended.
8. Conduct & Safety
Chef Kel Catering maintains a zero-tolerance policy regarding abuse, sexual harassment, or discrimination. We are an equal-opportunity employer and may include team members with disabilities. The customer is responsible for the behavior of their guests. If a safe environment is not maintained, we reserve the right to withdraw from the event without penalty or refund.
